Join French trained culinary authority and author of the award-winning Bon Appétit, Y'all, Virginia Willis, as she explains and demonstrates the classic Mother Sauces: Sauce Hollandaise, Sauce Veloute (a white stock based sauce, it is the foundation for a myriad of sauces and can be flavored in infinite ways), Sauce Béchamel (basic French white sauce), Sauce Espagnole (basic French brown sauce), and Sauce Tomate. All the classic French sauces are derived from this culinary quintet. By the end of class you'll understand which sauces are best for what dishes and practical applications for each.
